LOWER SAGILERU PROJECT
Background and Preamble.
Lower Sagileru Project is a Medium Irrigation Project Constructed across the river Sagileru which is a tributary to Pennar River. The Project site is located at Vaddamanu village in B.Kodur Mandal of Kadapa District. The Project was taken up for execution on 01-11-1954 and completed on 02-07-1959 in the 1st five year plan. The localized ayacut is 10,924 acres i.e., 8320 acres are being irrigated and the balance 2604 acres are developed as gap ayacut. Telugu Ganga Project water is proposed to be released to L.S.P. system in the ensuing Khariff season, and to ensure the assured water supply to the regularized ayacut and to fill the gap ayacut under this Scheme.
