Background & Preamble

Buggavanka Project was constructed across Buggavanka River near Ippapenta (V), C.K.Dinne (M) of Kadapa District. Buggavanka Project is a Medium Irrigation project completed by 2000 with a storage capacity of 0.50TMC.The contemplated ayacut under this project is 9700 acres in Khariff and 3150 acres in Rabi. The project is located 10km North of Kadapa town. The cost of the Project is Rs.38 Crores (SSR of 2000-2001) and the updated cost including improvements and modernization is Rs.39 Crores (SSR of 2002-2003).

A sink hole was formed on 11-12-05 at Ch 1505m on right flank and Ch 870m on left flank where water level in the reservoir is +184.15M.Government have accorded administrative approval for the treatment of sink hole portion for Providing grout curtain for the treatment to sink hole location at Ch 870M of LF and Ch 1505M of RF including sand sluicing of BVP earth dam for Rs. 210.60 lakhs. Technical sanction was accorded for Rs. 214.80 Lakhs vide CE(I) No. 19/2010-11, Dt: 06.11.2010.Tenders have been called for and the agency is fixed. The work will be ground shortly.
